Lagos NYSC Intensifies Preventive Measures, as COVID-19 cases rise

The Lagos State National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) has intensified its preventive measures against the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Current figures show that Nigeria has recorded about 37 cases of the virus, with one death. The figures are expected to soar.
To ensure the corps members serving in the state, as well as NYSC officials remain safe, the Lagos State Coordinator, Mr Eddy Megwa has beefed up safety measures at the Secretariat in Surulere to stop the spread of the virus.
Corps members and officials are mandated to wash their hands at various points in the Secretariat, use hand sanitizers and other safety precautions, while they come in for their documentations.
Speaking on the situation, Mr Megwa said while the virus is fast spreading, the safety of NYSC officials and corps members are paramount.
He urged corps members to be cautious of where the go to, while  they follow the preventive measures of social distancing, regular hands washing and sanitising, as well as avoid contact with any suspected case, among others.
"We have stepped up our preventive measures to ensure that all corps members and NYSC officials are safe. So far there has been no record of suspected case among corps members across the nation. We will continue to ensure that every serving corps member is safe from this deadly virus," he said.
