OBA'S VISIT TO THE LAGOS STATE ORIENTATION CAMP

The day started with a frenzy as the newly inducted Corps Members trooped out at the sound of the Beagle, which was followed by  the usual observation of the morning routine.

Soon after breakfastit was time for Corps Members to head to the lecture area to receive their theme lecture for the day.
  these lectures are designed to further drive ethics and instill the core values of the system in Corps Members
In attendance was the Lagos State NYSC Cordinator-Mr SUNDAY ARONI, Assistant Social Coordinator-Mr DOTUN FASHINA.
 Also in attendance was the Sports Coordinator-Mr VICTOR AKINWOLE and the Resident officer from the nation's capital Abuja.
 


The entrance of the Kabiyesi, Oba of Agege was welcomed with a well staged rich cultural display from Corps Members
The display got an applause from the Kabiyesi himself.
The Oba of Agege in his address spoke about the need for Corps Members to familiarize themselves with their home communities culture and customs.
 In his words,"Respect and Greeting' in Yoruba Land are  basic traits and values   needed according to their culture".
However, He adviced Corps Members to steer away from Drugs, Cyber crimes and all forms of societal ills, as they are the face of our society.

 In his parting statement, the Oba urged Corp Members to "go forth and keep learning" because when one stops learning, one stops living.
The NYSC State coordinator, Mr.SUNDAY ARONI, in his parting shots pointed out the benefits of the service year as well as the development it could bring if given proper devotion and character.

Mr ARONI also stressed that it is expedient that Corp Members assist their various host communities, strive to integrate into the community's cultures and customs during thier service year. 
Mr. ARONI went further to discuss the promotion of inventions and innovations with proper emphasis on the monthly CDS. In his final words "the CDS and the service year as a whole is a rare avenue for Corps Members to leave their footprints in the sands of time."
Corp members need to inculcate in their hearts that to succeed in their mission, they must have single-minded devotion to their goals,In furthermore, He stated that it takes vision and courage to create something memorable.
