FALSE POST ON THE HEALTH CONDITION OF A CORPS MEMBER.

The attention of the National Youth Service Corps has been drawn to a post on Facebook by one Mimi Atedze on Wednesday, 19th February 2020 on the health situation of Corps member Naomi Awodi, LA/19A/1234, serving in Lagos state. The corps member was involved in an accident along the Lekki/Epe expressway and was immediately taken to the Epe General Hospital. NYSC officials were at the hospital to visit and also informed her family.
The CMD of Epe General Hospital who attended to her, referred her to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) from where she was again referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)
The NYSC in it's usual commitment in giving priority to corps member's welfare, intervened by making the required financial commitment for her care so far to the tune of over half a million naira in deposit, same day.
Contrary to the content of the post, the elder brother of the corps member has been with her in the hospital since her arrival at LUTH.
It is00ⁿ expected that in cases like this the reporter ought to have contacted the NYSC to verify the information before posting on social media.
It is also important to note the every Corps Member is given an Identity card which carries vital information including the address and phone number of their next of kin which this Corps Member had on her and this was chat informed the hospital about her identity as a corps member.
We therefore call on the general public to disregard this malicious post.
