MEGWA APPEALS FOR PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT FOR CORPS MEMBERS

The NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa has appealed to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Commandant, Mr. Makinde Iskil Ayinla  to improve on the security of corps members in Lagos State.

He made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Commandant  in his Ikeja office. He noted that the security of corps members is paramount and a collective responsibility of all security agencies  considering the state of insecurity today.
The state coordinator also appreciated Mr. Makinde for his organisation's contributions to the growth of the scheme.

He used the occasion to commend the NSCDC officers posted to NYSC  orientation programmes for their good conduct.
In his response, the NSCDC Commandant said it is one of his organisation's mandate to provide adequate security for corps members nation wide, stressing that corps members are usually treated like very important personalities, (VIPs)  wherever they are.
The NSCDC boss also promised to provide adequate security for both corps members and staff in the forthcoming passing out of the 2019 Batch 'C'  corps members deployed to Lagos State for National service.

He appreciated the state coordinator and his staff for taking good  care of the large number of corps members that are usually deployed to the state for national service.

Mr. Makinde also used the occasion to call on all heads of Federal Government Agencies in Lagos to have a forum where they can discuss and share ideas on how to better their organisations.
