In a yet another effort to cushion the economic effects of Covid19 on the people of Lagos State, today, the National Youth Service Corps visited Alimosho Local Government Council.
The visit which was led by the State Coordinator of NYSC Lagos State, Mr Eddy Megwa saw to the distribution of palliatives to members of the community.
Addressing the audience, Mr Megwa said 'we have been very much pained by the effects of Covid19 on people nationwide and we see it as a responsibility to associate with you due to the lockdown because you have been playing important roles of caring for our corps members and showing them concern.
Therefore as you eat these items, eat with pride, eat with relish because the gift is coming from your children.'
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Morenike Williams in response, appreciated the National Youth Service Corps for the initiative. she said 'the efforts of the corps members in giving to the local people is commendable giving the fact that they are giving out of the little they have.'
She therefore called on the local people to continue to be friendly to the corps members.
The palliatives were thereafter handed over to the Local Government Council by the State Coordinator for distribution to the people in the Local Government area.
