..... Celebrates Retirees, Prays for the scheme.
As a custom to weekly familiarize members of staff with the operations of the scheme for effective service delivery to corps members and the public, the National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State today held another Knowledge Sharing Session (KSS).
The session which was anchored on lectures about Deployment & Relocation and Finance & Accounts branches, elucidated the various challenges on the job and how they can be attended to for effective service delivery.
The lectures which were delivered by Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka, Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation and Mr Garnvwa Ishaya, Assistant Director, Finance and Accounts bordered on the issuance of Certificate of National Service and Welfare of corps members.
The event also celebrated two retired members of staff; Comrade Rotimi Oyeniyi and Mrs Susan Obioha. Extolling the officers, the State Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa expressed his gratitude to God for seeing the officers through out their service to the scheme. He promised that while he remains the State Coordinator in Lagos State, he would ensure officers who retire from the scheme in the State are accorded a worthy celebration upon departure.
In the same vein, the State Coordinator has commended the efforts of the Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka for the success recorded during the Passing-Out of the 2019 Batch 'B' corps members which was conducted seamlessly despite the threat of the Coronavirus and the humongous number of corps members in the State.
Issuing the Assistant Director a commendation letter, he pledged to continue to motivate members of staff who are diligent in their duties.
The occasion also witnessed prayers by members of staff as they raised their voices for the nation, as well as the scheme in this disturbing period of pandemic, asking God to prosper the scheme and bring an end to the deadly disease and any situation that may hamper the operations and development of the scheme.
