The Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed has promised to work with the Chairmen of LGAs in Lagos state for the inauguration of the moribund NYSC /LOCAL GOVERNMENT Committees in all the LGAs as soon as possible.
He made the promise when the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa paid a courtesy call on him at his Alausa, Ikeja office today.

Mr. Megwa who described his visit as home coming thanked the Commissioner for the good work he did for the scheme when he was the commissioner of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Relations, the scheme's supervising Ministry in the state.
He also said he was at the commissioner's office to seek for his support for the resuscitation of the NYSC/Local Government Committees in all the Local Government Areas in the State.
He added that the inauguration of the committees would address and improve the welfare of corps members in the local government areas.
He also informed the Commissioner that the LG Committee is contained in Section 8 of the NYSC act and therefore should be functional in all LGAs.
Reacting, the Commissioner, Dr. Wale Ahmed thanked the NYSC Coordinator for visiting him and promised that he would as a matter of urgency get the attention of the local government chairmen to act on the issue.
Dr. Ahmed also promised to ensure that all Chairmen visit corps members and welcome them to Lagos state during Orietation camp period.
He however promised to continue to collaborate with the scheme to achieve its objectives in Lagos state.
